A Travel Agent
A Travel Consultant is also referred to as a Travel Agent. They provide a "one stop shop" for both leisure and corporate passengers.
This is an exciting career and is ideally suited to someone who is sales driven and has a passion for the Travel and Tourism industry. The work is varied and will include working well as part of a team. Occasionally staff are sent on educationals to different destinations. This enables them to be more confident when selling holidays. It also gives them an opportunity to network with staff from other agencies and to share ideas.
A Travel Consultant’s duties include:

Selling package holidays, creating tailor made holidays, selling flights, cruises, hotel accommodation, car hire, ferries, coach, rail and insurance etc. using a Global Distribution System i.e. Galileo/Amadeus/Worldspan etc. and the Internet.

Advising customers about resorts and travel arrangements.

Issuing travel tickets.

General administration duties.
